The WSE Team:

We are John and Helen Wright. Married with three children, we set out to build a property business successful enough that we could both work part-time, and spend more time together as a family. We’re immensely proud of both what we have achieved and how we have achieved it, building great relationships with business partners, suppliers, neighbours and tenants along the way.  Our children are why we started the business and its important to us they we create a business which treats everyone in the way we would want others to treat them.

We are now looking to develop our business further,  working on larger developments, varying our portfolio, working in partnership with other property owners and developers and helping others as they start out on, or ramp up, their own property career.

John Wright

John has a long career history in construction and development, which gives him the perfect background for our property renovation and development projects.

From planning and managing a build, to arranging licensing, and complying with building control legislation; John’s been there and done it. Knowing how all this stuff works is valuable – a delay on a build due to the planning application not being correct or the paperwork not being in place is costly and has put a spanner in the works of many a property development project.

John also deals with all our tradespeople and contractors.  With hands-on experience of each job, he ‘gets it’ and knows how to fit the pieces together on a project so that it goes smoothly.

Helen Wright

Helen keeps all the wheels and cogs moving in the right direction, in order that we meet all our targets, keeping our partners and investors happy and making sure every legal and regulatory box is ticked and tickety-boo.

“I came to Brighton as a student and lived in a real mix of properties. I fell in love with Brighton and stayed. I actually ‘bought’ my first investment property accidentally. Re-mortgaging my home (as a buy to let), rather than selling it, was the only way to move fast enough to buy the new house I had set my heart on. Every time I moved, I re-mortgaged my old home in order to move quickly on the new purchase.  I had two rental properties under my belt by the time John and I bought our family home together. John had done the same so we had four investment properties between us, along with a fair bit of experience when we decided to set up WSE Property Services.  Now we want to share our expertise with other landlords and property investors in Brighton”.

Erin Sullivan

Erin joined us at the beginning of 2019 and has quickly become a core member of the team.  With a background working in estate agency and running her own property lets, she has hit the ground running to become our Property Manager. It’s Erin that works with tenants and our maintenance team to ensure that houses are fully tenanted and maintained to the high standards we insist on and her positive friendly outlook makes her a pleasure to be around.

I help John and Helen to manage the WSE student portfolio, dealing with renting the houses out and managing repairs and paperwork. I also help with preparing new houses to ensure they are suitable for for our high quality rentals. I deal with all maintenance issues and general administration”.

Kerensa Inkpen-Porter

Kerensa joined the team in 2021 and works alongside both Erin and Helen, giving her a great overview of how the practical tenant and property management issues link through to the legal and admin side (and visa versa).  A constant smiling presence in the team who understands the company’s ethics, and works tirelessly to maintain standards in all areas.

It takes time to build up a bank of trusted tradespeople and the WSE Property Services trades team are an inv}aluable asset.  We have reliable, trustworthy people in place, covering all aspects of our business.
